The Umred-Pauni-Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary is located 50 kilometers from Nagpur and 60 kilometers from Bhandara and spans Pauni Tahsil in Bhandara and Umred, Kuhi, and Bhivapur Taluka in Nagpur. Residents include breeding tigers, Gaur herds, wild dogs, and rare creatures such as flying squirrels, pangolins, and honey badgers. The Umred Karahandla Wildlife Sanctuary has Amazing Flora

The Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary has a diverse range of trees and flora. The Southern tropical forest contains the majority of the broadleaved and deciduous species. Teak is one of the well-known flora found at UmredKarhandla Wildlife Sanctuary. Apart from it, Tendu, Tiwas, Semal, Mahua, Achar, Bhirra, Dhaoda, and Palas can be found.

The Umred Jungle Safari Offers Varieties of Animals to Spot

Umred Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for the tiger Jai that walked 130 km from Nagzira Wildlife Sanctuary and migrated here. Jai stays there with his partner Chandni and their four kids.

 

According to the 2014 census, the sanctuary housed a total of 17 large cats. There were 11 tigers and 6 leopards among them. Furthermore, there are many more species that you can spot in the Umred Karhandla tiger safari such as Jungle cats, wild boards, jackals, wild dogs, spotted deer, etc. The endangered group includes nine species of birds that are provided with sufficient nesting conditions. 

 

The Umred Pauni Karhandla Wildlife Sanctuary is home to 90 bird species from 22 families and 12 orders. This includes ten different migratory bird species as well as seven endangered avifauna species.
