Rational Reason That Will Describe How Spy Movies Are Not Related To Real Life

Does watching intelligence and spy movies like “Mission Impossible” makes you feel overwhelmed? If yes, then your mind should be asking questions like, are all the spies and secret agents as handsome as Tom Cruise, or is it really possible to disguise yourself in minutes? However, none of the action and movie logic is related to real-life or intelligence officers.

And to answer the same questions, we reached out to a related book, From Nixon To The Shah. This is an autobiography and resembles the actual life of William P. Callahan, a real-life intelligence officer. The book is great for understanding the real side of how the intelligence agency and officers do their duties to protect the country.

Myth number 01: Spies Are Macho

Almost all spy or mystery-related movies have a hero who is as hot as Hawaii. They tend to be extremely handsome with sharp features and dreamy eyes. They are quick and ready to face the music. However, unfortunately, this is not the case. Real-life officers are smart and fit mentally and physically. But they are not always macho and slim, nor do they look like models.

Myth number 02: Always Have Fancy Cars To Drive

Spies always have expensive cars to drive and chase the bad guys. But in real life, this is not the case. Spies do not have expensive and fancy cars. They are like us in real life, and their duty does not revolve around chasing and arresting the bad guys all the time.

Myth Number 03: The Spy Has Special Powers To Disguise Themselves

Many of us have seen face transplants and random disguises in action or intelligence movies. Nevertheless, it does not happen during actual investigations. A spy does not have an ultra-intelligence lab assistant who always supports them. In fact, these scientists and sidekicks are not present in real life. Intelligence officers need to find meaningful ways to complete and close the case.

Myth Number 04: The Spies Has Ultra Strength

Well, a spy can have ultra-muscle strength in reality. But it definitely does not mean that they are always ready to jump off from Burj khalifa to stop the criminals from destroying the world. They act normally and reach the point in realistic ways, such as by using doors and windows.

Myth Number 05: A Spy Has All The Instruments To Ditch Protocol

Spies or secret intelligence officers do have high-tech devices and instruments, still nearly not as advanced as what is shown in movies. There are no projectors that can disable all the security protocols or an umbrella that can shoot deadly bullets. However, they tend to have more practical tools to handle security. An actual security card or a scanner to scan the criminal’s fingerprints can be a decent and relatable example.

Myth Number 06: There Is Always A Situation To Find A Place Full Of Bad Guys

I still do not understand how the hero often finds himself in situations where he is hand-cuffed and surrounded by deadly enemies. That is not the plot in real life. The officers have to plan and organize first and then act accordingly to make it a foolproof measure to handle criminal infestations.
