2017 has been an active and dynamic year for the selection system for Express Entry in Canada. With the end of third quarter of the year, the number of candidates receiving an ITA is a record and the highest in the history of Canada.
Fewer ITAs were issued in the third quarter of 2017 when compared ITAs issued in the second quarter; the figure shows a double growth in the number for the third quarter of 2016. It also witnessed a decrease in the minimum CRS score needed by a candidate to get an ITA.
The ITA target meets the projected aim of IRCC in 2017 to use the Express Entry System in extending support to newcomers, based on human capital considerations, instead of on offers of employment.
