Provincial Nominee Program updates, developments and new features
There is a surge in immigration activity among Canada’s Provincial Nominee Programs recently, as provinces receive applications from workers, entrepreneurs, and graduates.

These Programs permit Canadian provinces to issue nominations to persons for PR. Some PNP streams, considered to be enhanced streams, have been aligned with the selection system of Federal Express Entry. Such nomination fetches the applicant 600 points under the CRS and he/she can receive Invitation to Apply for PR at a later draw from this pool.

Base streams are those Streams which do not form a part of the Express Entry. They interest persons who are not presently eligible to migrate to Canada taking the Express Entry route. Several Express Entry candidates may also be successful to immigrate through the Base PNP stream route.

The Government of Canada presently has an Immigration Plan where a target to allow 54,000 new PRs through the PNP has been set for this year. The government proposes to introduce its
