Bondi boxing gyms
You are right if you are thinking that Bondi boxing gyms are popping up on every corner. Thai boxing has really taken Australia and Australians by storm, and boxing has fast become an exercise discipline for many. There are different kinds of boxing on offer and in a way it is like yoga, where there is always a class for everyone. Boxing of course is just a lot faster than yoga, a lot sweatier than yoga, and a lot more physical than yoga. We are not really comparing the two exercise formats, other than to say there is always a boxing class for all levels of people, and there are different kinds of boxing on offer.
Boxing instructors
When you go to boxing gyms, or if you look at the boxing gyms website, you will be able to read up on the boxing instructors. Each boxing instructor will have a profile and them, about where they have trained, how experienced they are, and which qualifications they have. Again, just like any exercise format, a teacher or an instructor must be qualified. They need to have done a course, sometimes they need a diploma or some kind of degree or qualification, before they are allowed to teach. A boxing instructor has to be good physically and mentally. They are teaching you a discipline and while they are teaching you all the moves, they are teaching you to be safe, to be committed and to be disciplined. Before you choose a boxing gym, go through the list of instructors, look at the times of the boxing sessions, and sign up for a trial class.
Trial classes
Before you start or sign up for any new exercise discipline, it is always a good idea to do a trial session. Most gyms encourage this as they want you to enjoy the classes and to sign up for something that is just right for you. Do a trial session and afterwards, chat to the boxing instructor. If you have any questions, ask them. Know what you are signing up for. And if the gym offers multitude boxing types and multitude boxing classes, make quite sure you are doing the class that is right for you.
Group or solo
Boxing can be done in a small group class and it can also be done solo, as in, on a one-on-one session with a trainer. This would be a private training. Most boxing sessions will always include a warm up and some general cross training, and then the discipline of boxing. Boxing makes you strong, it makes you fit and it makes you able to defend yourself. Boxing is popular amongst women and men, although used to be primarily a man’s sport, and it is also popular amongst teens and young adults. It’s a great way to get into good shape, to feel fit and fabulous, and to gain in confidence too.
Are you tempted? Look for the Bondi boxing gyms in your area and sign up for a trial class.
