A holiday trip to Mahabalipuram « HolidayRentals Blog

Mahabalipuram is a marvelous place of historic architectures facing Bay of Bengal. I along with my family had a wonderful holiday trip to Mahabalipuram. The earlier name of Mahabalipuram was Mamallapuram. The place is situated in the Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu. We were able to see a lot of statues there, among them the main attractions were an elephant in single stone and Krishnas butterball. Each and every statue in Mahabalipuram reflects the innovations made by the Pallava Kings. The monuments are located close together and we can simply walk from one monument to another. With the help of a guide we were able to understand the history behind the monuments.
