For added corrosion resistance, ERW Carbon Steel Pipe is a form of carbon steel pipe that has a black polish. For various application uses, the pipes are produced in accordance with various requirements and standards, such as ASTM A182. The pipes may be seamless, ERW, or EFW. Electric resistance welding is used to join the pipe made of carbon steel. The pipes are available in sizes from 1/8 inch to 72 inch. For various pipe specifications and grades, the nominal sizes may change.

These pipes are utilised as standard pipes, line pipes, structural tubing, mechanical tubing, pressure tubing, oil and country tubular products, and pressure tubing. Applications for ERW black carbon steel pipe might include everything from home water supply lines to industrial uses in the oil and gas industry. Customers can use the pipe size charts to select the appropriate CS welded pipe dimensions based on their application needs.

The steel must be categorised as a ERW Carbon Steel Pipe if it has less than 0.30% carbon. The least expensive carbon steel also has the tendency to be more malleable. As a result, it proves to be a successful option for applications where ductility is required. In contrast to its lower form, the proportion of carbon in a high carbon pipe is restricted to the range of 0.61% to 1.5%. Higher carbon content carbon steel welded pipe has superior hardness and tends to be much stronger, although it is less ductile than the former.

What makes ordinary Carbon Steel ERW Pipe less expensive is the absence of alloying components. But it's also the reason why they frequently don't have very good corrosion resistance. The process of blackening produces a persistent oxide coating that provides some level of corrosion resistance. In essence, erw black carbon steel pipe is not galvanised and is utilised in applications where galvanization of the product is not necessary.
