It has been shown to be effective in treating early-stage skin cancer, retinoblastoma, actinic keratosis, and cervical intraepithelial neoplasia. Cryotherapy was found to be effective in controlling the side effects of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in a study published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute in October 2017.
