Medical disposables are products that are used in hospitals or in various medical fields for prevention of infections and for safety measures to meet the medical standards

In the past few years, medical and surgical device manufacturers worldwide have launched many newinnovative products and have also experienced mergers and acquisitions tostrengthen their entire product portfolio. Moreover, manufacturers have seen atremendous improvement in their profit margin due to reduced material cost, better reliability, and enhanced performance. Examples of disposable deviceswould include syringes, needles, bandages, foams, wipes, pads, applicators, gloves, face masks, latex gloves, surgical sponges, and more. The reason formaking medical disposables is infection prevention. The advantage over otherforms of medical supplies is that they can be used on a larger scale and bedistributed to remote areas without the need for additional packaging. However, this is only one use of these devices, as many are disposable in other ways aswell. Examples of other uses would be for removing sutures, sterilizinginstruments used with chemotherapy drugs, removing certain types of metals frommedical equipment, or as part of the final rinse process prior to surgery.

Disposable devices fordisinfecting would include alcohol solutions, chlorine solutions, Lysol, detergents, or chlorhexidine gluconate. A disposable device for sterilizinginstruments, such as an ultrasonic cleaner, would likely require some type ofsterilizing solution to be used in the mixing or stirring process.
