NOTE - Prenatal Paternity DNA Testing Does Not Include Sex Determination of the Fetus. Its a Punishable Offense.

Process of a Paternity DNA Test While Pregnant

The first step in getting a paternity DNA test while pregnant woman is still carrying the baby is the sample collection.

Here it becomes a little different than regular paternity testing. Instead of taking amniotic fluid from the womb of the mother, we use the mothers blood sample, in which enough placental DNA is present. These placental DNAs serve as the fetusDNA sample. On the other hand, the alleged father can give his buccal swab sample.

Once we receive your samples at our testing facility, we start your DNA testing. For this first, the DNAs are extracted from the blood, and the swabs and individual DNA specimens are tested separately using STR analysis.

Based on the inclusion of the two profiles, the test report is declared. In case the fetal DNA profile matches 99.99% with that of the fathers DNA profile, it means that the two are biologically related. In case the inclusion between the two DNA profiles is 0%, the paternity is disproved, meaning that the unborn child is not biologically related to the alleged father.
