Know about Dialysis- Meaning & Procedure
Why dialysis is required? How long can you live without dialysis? when dialysis is done? Can dialysis be stopped once started? Etc. these are some of the general questions that people think about when they are aware about their kidney damage.
Our body has the organs in two beans shaped and they are called kidneys. The major role of kidneys is to remove the toxins, excess wastes and fluids from the blood that means it clears and filters the blood in the form of urine and this is how the overall fluid & mineral balance in the blood is being supported. The are some other functions which are being performed by the kidney are Controlling important molecules & salt levels such as Potassium, chloride, sodium & producing hormones. The major three hormones that are being produced by the kidney includes Erythropoietin, this helps the body in a condition when blood loses the capacity to carry oxygen and therefore the kidney helps to produce those red blood cells.
When the kidneys fail in the human body, they stop performing all those above tasks and therefore, that leaves a person in a life threating condition.
