The Product Owner is the customer’s voice, and the business analyst does most of the work as a representative of the development team. But, a full disclosure: the distinction between these two roles is not that black and white, PO is very business-oriented and customer-focused, while BA is usually strategic and project-oriented. But when it comes to training and general BA skills, they are often able to perform some PO tasks. This includes many back-end management tasks, sorting out major issues into smaller ones, modeling workflow and data, defining business rules, and addressing ineffective needs.
