Cybersecurity is the practice of defending, through offensive technologies or practices, computers, servers, electronic systems, networks from malicious attacks carried out by cybercriminals.

Computer security refers to  the security of information systems , which in recent years has evolved into the concept of cybersecurity. Therefore, cybersecurity aims to protect digital information.

What we want to reflect with that term is the  set of techniques and policies that we have in a company and also on a personal level to achieve an environment of trust  in the transmission of information, in the transactions we make and to safeguard our personal data.

First, an updated inventory of assets and software must be available in order to be aware of the potential risks to which it is exposed. Subsequently, it is recommended to carry out an  audit to know your cybersecurity status.

Likewise, technology is essential to offer companies the necessary cybersecurity and security clearance levels solutions to protect themselves from cyberattacks and to be able to apply the necessary controls to protect their assets. Both the end devices and the networks that allow their connectivity and the cloud or servers to store the information must be protected.

IMPORTANCE OF CYBERSECURITY

Cybersecurity studies indicate that the larger the company, the more likely  they are to suffer a cyberattack, as they are more economically attractive to cybercriminals; Of course, this does not mean that small companies are not exposed to this type of attack, the truth is that no company is exempt, the probability of being attacked is the same regardless of its size.

Every organization when making an investment in cybersecurity, including: antivirus, antispam,  protection against data leaks, firewalls, encrypted connections, etc. will ensure a higher level of protection of your information.

Thanks to cybersecurity, you will be able to detect vulnerabilities and minimize the attack surface through the implementation of controls, thus reducing attack vectors, the probability of being attacked and the impact it could have on business objectives.

There are people who currently  think that there are no risks on the internet ,however ,this is not true, it is important that we all improve awareness of these risks, people must be trained to combat and be prepared for these cyberattacks, through policies of security and the use of secure systems can achieve this goal.

DIFFERENCES WITH INFORMATION SECURITY

Information Security is the set of preventive and reactive measures that allow information to be stored and protected . In other words, it is the set of all those use policies and measures that affect the processing of stored data, whether they are from a company, institution or an individual.

In this sense,  the information can be stored, processed or transmitted in different ways:  in electronic format, verbally or through written or printed messages. So, Information Security can be as much about protecting a filing cabinet of important documents as it is about protecting your organization's database.
