Sneak Peek into iPhone 12 - Leaks, Rumours & Features - Rapid Repair

As the much-awaited iPhone 12 event is just around the corner, the leaks, rumours, and renderings have started to surface more intensely. And rightly so, as this device is touted to be a huge upgrade over its predecessors. If you want to know what the smartphone has in store for you, we have dished out all the notable iPhone 12 features leaked so far. So, let’s take a sneak peek into Apple’s 2020 iPhones.

iPhone 12

If a plethora of rumours and leaked images are anything to go by, iPhone 12 will sport a slab-sided design. The metal frame coupled with the flat form-factor will make iPhone 12 look quite similar to iPhone 4.

Thanks to the flat form-factor, the upcoming iPhone will offer much-improved grip, making it more convenient to hold the smartphone. Beyond iPhone 4-like design, the smartphone won’t see a lot of design changes – at least externally.

Going by the rumour mills, Apple is all set to introduce 4 brand new iPhones. There will be one 5.4″ model, two 6.1″ models, and one 6.7″ iPhone model.

Apple is said to equip all the 2020 iPhones with OLED display regardless of price. It would be a notable change, especially for those who have criticized the $650 iPhone 11 for having a below-par Liquid Retina HD Display.

OLED Display iPhone

In what could be great news for the folks who feel envious of OnePlus 8 Pro‘s (and other high-end Android smartphones’ like Note 20 Ultra) 120Hz refresh rate, Apple is all set to bring 120Hz “ProMotion” refresh rate on the higher-end models. It will not only enhance the display quality but also make the iPhone more capable of action-packed gaming.

According to reports, the 6.7-inch iPhone and one 6.1-inch iPhone will be higher end models and feature the more advanced triple-lens cameras. The 5.4 and 6.1-inch models will be lower-end and come with the slightly less capable dual-lens cameras.

3D Camera System iPhone 12

Some rumours have suggested that the top-tier models will feature 3D triple-lens rear camera system that will take advantage of the laser to calculate the depth for objects. This functionality will enhance both photography and AR capabilities. It is said to be quite similar to LiDAR Scanner in the 2020 iPad Pro.

The addition of power-hungry features like 5G and 120Hz refresh rate demands the inclusion of a more capable battery in the iPhone 12 Series. However, in the typical Apple fashion, the tech giant is said to reduce approximately 10% battery capacity on iPhone 12 lineup from their iPhone 11 equivalent models.

The 5.4″ iPhone 12 is said to have 2,227 mAh battery, while the iPhone 12 Max is expected to have 2,775 mAh battery.

As for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, they will have 2,815 mAh and 3,687 mAh battery capacity respectively. Despite the reduction in battery capacity, we expect the upcoming iPhones to be more power efficient due to more powerful processor.

iPhone 12 models set to come in late 2020 will come with the next iteration of Apple’s A Series processor. Apple-designed 5-nanometer A14 chip will be manufactured by TSMC, which has long been a trusted manufacturer of A Series processors.

The A14 chip will be a lot faster and more power efficient than its predecessor. As per reports, the next iteration of A Series processor will deliver over 40% greater CPU and more than 50% GPU performance as compared to A13 processor. Looking at the raw horsepower, it’s crystal clear that iPhone 12 will dominate rivals – as has always been the case with a new iPhone.

While the high-end models will reportedly feature 6GB RAM, the low-end models will come with 4GB RAM. As for storage capacities, the low-end models are expected to be available in three variants: 64GB, 128GB, 256GB.

The high-end models like iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will come in three internal storage options: 64 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB.

iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will reportedly come in four colors: Space Gray, Silver, Gold, and the all-new Navy Blue. The standard variants (iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Max) will be available in six colors: Black, Green, Yellow, Purple, Red, and White.

Due to COVID-19, iPhone 12 Series will have a slightly delayed launch. Based on reports, the new iPhones may arrive in the mid November or early December.

Looking at the specs, the iPhone 12 Series seems to be power-packed with features. Be it 3D camera system or the 120Hz refresh rate, the smartphone has got the specs to warrant an upgrade. We wish the USB-C port and the slightly trimmed notch also find a way onto the 2020 iPhones. What’s your take on iPhone 12?
