Blockage IN HOSE

How to know a blockage in your hose

Take your central vacuum nutone hose and plug it straight to the dirt canister.

After powering up the vacuum, if the hose has usual suction then the clog is in your tubing.

But if you have minimized suction at the deposit bag then your hose is having blockage.

Connect hose in reverse into the socket found on your system and power up the unit. This will remove the blockage.

Or, unplug the hose from the socket and push a garden hose through hose to remove the material causing blockage. Essentially, the garden hose must be powered down and there should beno water getting into your vacuum unit hose.

Or, disconnect the hose fromsocket and drop in a heavy tool like a screwdriver to force out the clog.

How to know a full clog within the tubing

  1. Power on system at the disposal container and put a Cloth through every inlet. If the cloth moves to the deposit can in one piece you do not have a clog in that inlet, go on to the following inlet and do it again. If the cloth doesn't make it to the deposit container then you have a blockage in your tubing.
  2. After you find which inlet has blockage, turn off your central vacuum nutone unit and then unplug the canister from the unit. Then by utilizing a different vacuum (like a movable wet/dry canister) connect the hose into the socket and try to such out the clog. This technique functions a lot of times.
  3. If the above wasn't successful, you can try using a plumber's snake through the inlet to push the clog out.
