A management system audit aims to identify and assess the need for improvement or corrective action. An audit is not confused with surveillance or 'inspection' activities only for process control or product or service acceptability.

What are the audit's goals?

A management system audit aims to identify and assess the need for improvement or corrective action. An audit is not confused with surveillance or 'inspection' activities only for process control or product or service acceptability.

Audits should be created with the following goals in mind:

Determine whether the management system complies or fails to comply with the requirements outlined in relevant Management System Standards such as AS/NZS ISO9000, AS/NZS ISO 14000, and AS 4804 and the organization's management system documentation.Determine whether the management system in place effectively meets the risk management objectives.

Give the auditee the chance to improve their management system.

Comply with all regulatory requirements.
