Autoclaves are sophisticated sterilizing instruments that are commonly used in the medical industry.
The autoclave machine has been designed to automatically heat and sterilize the items placed inside it. This process is known as pre-heating or hot water autoclave. This method is very effective in reducing the growth of microorganisms in food items.

An autoclave is an apparatus that offers a physical means of sterilization i.e. killing germs, viruses, and other microorganisms present in the object placed in it through hot steam under controlled pressure. Autoclave sterilizes the objects by heating them above a specific temperature for a certain prescribed period of time. This sterilization is done by exposing the object to high temperatures which kills the germs, microbes, and other microorganisms present in it. These are greatly used across medical industry.

The primary types of autoclave machines are the pressure autoclave and the electric autoclave. Both types of autoclave operate primarily through vacuum induced or gravity pre-vacuum purification methods, although some types of autoclave combine both kinds for greater sanitization. The advantage of using an autoclave is that it is faster, cheaper, and easier than most other forms of sterilizing.

The working principle of an autoclave machine is based on the principle of water and oil. Water is placed in the top chamber while the object is placed at the bottom chamber. The container, which is fitted at the top of the autoclave unit contains a small amount of water which is heated by electric energy from the power transformer. The heat coming from the electric coil melts the object placed in the chamber and the water flows out from the bottom chamber towards the front of the machine. As the heated liquid passes through the sliding doors of the chamber, it finds its way to the drain.
