Winter earns festivals, parties and celebrations. But do you know what else winter brings? Dry skin of’ course! The toughest part however is to hide the flakey skin when you’re wearing makeup.

We have here some skincare tips how to prep your skin layer for an ideal looking base and also to camouflage all the dryness...

Exfoliate well

Exfoliating your skin once every week will be the most sensible thing you can do this winter. To remove all the flakiness on your skin, scrub and moisturise regularly. Make certain not to overdo it as it could irritate your skin. If you have a big event approaching, exfoliate the night before.

Strengthen your moisturiser...

We can not stress enough on the value of moisturising your skin layer well and regularly. The skin we have needs some extra loving through the colder days. If you feel your favourite moisturiser isn’t doing enough for you personally during winter, then make an effort to add an important oil to it. Just add a few drops of oils like argan oil or Jojoba oil to your moisturiser for that extra boost of hydration.

 Create a foundation mix

Don’t go out and purchase a fresh foundation for your winter skin. Make any foundation work for dry skin with this simple hack. Mix in some moisturiser or a drop of oil together with your lakme 9 to 5 foundation to create it look dewy. This will help your skin stay hydrated during the day. People who have a problem with acne can add try tea tree oil. It’s known to fight acne.

Makeup setting spray or face mist

Spend money on facial mists or setting sprays. Prep your skin layer with a few spritz of the spray. This creates a wholesome looking skin when base makeup is applied on top. For extra glow, spray some setting spray as you blend your foundation or spritz some on your own beauty blender to blend your foundation. This not merely adds glow but also makes your cosmetic last longer.

 Cream > powder

Choose cream based products as the powder products will further emphasise your dry skin. Choose cream based highlighters, bronzers and blushes. this can not only look natural and flattering, but may also provide the extra hydration your skin layer absolutely needs!
