Acrolein Market

Acrolein is a potent oxidant that is produced in the body from fatty acids and proteins. Its main source of environmental pollution is organic combustion, although it is also a component of food. It is also found in skin lipid trioléin, an anticancer drug. In addition, acrolein is formed in the body by ultraviolet radiation on fat. In some people, this chemical is a byproduct of the overheating of fatty foods.

The most common source of acrolein exposure is diesel engines. Studies have found that acrolein is present in the air of workplaces at levels ranging from 2.1 to 7.2 mg/cu ft. In one report from 1981, the concentration of acrolein was 212 ppm. In the following decades, it was widely used in agrochemical manufacturing, including agrochemicals. For instance, in November 2021, Baxter Oncology GmbH, a pharmaceutical firm in Germany, developed mesna ampoules and Ifosfamide vials for research on their potential in reducing inflammation of urinary tract infections while releasing acrolein.
