Thermal Conduction Heating | TRS Group

History

Started in September 2000 as a licensee of the electrical resistance heating (ERH) technology developed at Pacific Northwest Laboratories, TRS has grown to more than 70 people in the USA with joint ventures in South America, Europe, and Asia. TRS provides in situ and ex situ heating solutions and, in addition to ERH, offers steam enhanced extraction and thermal conduction heating services.

TRS is a 100% employee-owned company (ESOP), which has fostered a collaborative and cooperative culture and has led to more than 80% of our projects with companies or agencies that have worked with TRS on previous projects.

Safety

TRS firmly believes that the safety of our people and all those who encounter our projects is our primary responsibility. TRS has developed a comprehensive Behavior Based Safety (BBS) program that is compliant with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. The program reinforces our goal to “Work Safer Every Day” in all facets of our operations. TRS ensures that our subcontractors share the same focus, using extensive subcontractor safety screening, followed by continual training and monitoring of field activities.

Global Reach

Starting our first joint venture in South America in 2009, TRS Group also has joint ventures in Europe and Asia. We truly provide heating solutions worldwide.

Financial Strength

TRS is a growing, profitable company with outstanding backlog and financial resources. Because of our financial strength and confidence in our technologies and employee-owners, we routinely guarantee our performance.

Research & Development

TRS has a robust research and development effort focused on sustainability and reducing the costs of thermal remediation. We have numerous patents on our heating elements, electrode design, and using heat to remediate miscible compounds, such as 1,4-dioxane and tetrahydrofuran.

In June 2020, the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office awarded TRS the only patent for the thermal treatment of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
