Plant-Based Meat Products Are Gaining Popularity Nowadays Due To Many Health And Environmental Reasons
Companies are trying to go even further by using plant-based meat analog ingredients instead of meat substitutes. Some of these are eggplant, yogurt, coconut, tofu, and wheat germ. However, despite their similarities to regular meat substitutes, these new creations of plant-based meat still have certain aesthetic qualities of meat substitutes.

There are several plant-based meat analog substitutes out there. The most common are soy protein and tofu. Though not a vegan substitute like veganism, soy protein has its own set of fans and detractors. First, soy protein is a complete food, meaning it contains all nutrients except those that are excluded; thus, it can replace meat and animal products with no additional calories, resulting in weight loss, better digestion, and more energy. However, soy protein does not contain the vitamins and minerals one needs to maintain a healthy diet.

Soy protein plant-based meat, on the other hand, does provide many of the vitamins and minerals one needs to stay healthy. Though not a complete substitute for vegan meats, these products can fill in some of the nutritional gaps left behind when eating vegan meats. More significantly, plant-based meat can also save money on food. The most popular plant-based meats used in these substitutes are tofu and soy milk.

Plant-based meat is simply a meat-like material made from living plants. Some examples of such plant-based meat products include tofu, which is primarily made from soybeans and wheat; milk, which is mainly produced from cow's milk; cheese, which is often made from goat's milk or sheep's milk; chicken (without the skin), duck, turkey, and other game meats; and soybean oil, which is derived from soybeans. More descriptively, however, are plant-based meat substitutes, which can be made by vegetarians for the convenience of their meals. Others are created for the environment by the use of animals (such as elephant and cow manure) raised specifically for consumption.
