Google Says Bolded Text Can Improve Your SEO
As a Digital marketer, you will be thinking about all possible ways to optimize your website and will be sure to spend time on the updates rolled out by Google.
Surprisingly, for most of the marketers’ typography is an unknown topic. But Google has clearly mentioned:
Bolded text can improve a webpage’s SEO.
Yes, you read that right!
Bolding crucial pieces of text content in a paragraph can boost SEO.
It also makes it easy for Google crawlers to understand the content better.
It is an original update stated during November 12, 2021, on Search Central SEO office-hours hangout and has got nothing to do with the video that Matt Cutt made in 2012 because his video was mainly concerned about the use of <b> and <strong> tags.
However, to what extent it will help SEO is quite relative to the rest of the content on that webpage.
Let’s break it down more.
Muller specifies that
“So usually we do try to understand what the content is about on a web page, and we look at different things to try to figure out what is actually being emphasized here, and that includes things like headings on a page... But it also includes things like what is actually bolded or emphasized within the text on the page.”
Well, after reading this if you are set to make all of your text bold, then nothing is going to be bold, and everything will remain the same. Just take a bunch of sentences that are really important and make them bold to boost your SEO.
