According to the United Nations, domestic abuse is defined as “a pattern of behavior in any relationship that is used to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner.”
Domestic violence accounts for all kinds of physical, verbal, and emotional abuse, as well as any form of forceful restraint without the consent of the victim, or the refusal of their rights.
