Can you swim with a toupee?
One common question that gets asked a lot when it comes to hair replacement systems is whether you can swim with them. It’s a fair question as nobody wants to be swimming only to find their hair system is loose, sliding off or comes off entirely.

Can I swim with my toupee?

So can you swim with your toupee hair system on? The simple answer is yes, but with some caveats. For one, you should wait at least 24 to 48 hours after you’ve installed your toupee before you have any exposure to water. This is so that the bond doesn’t get weakened and will keep your hair system on your head.

While thin skin hair systems can be used to swim, it’s not totally recommended either as they are not durable as a whole while too much water can swell the base and make the grip power of the hair looser. As a result, this leads to hair shedding from the base which nobody wants.

Lastly, one thing to keep in mind is how much chlorine and salt you’re being exposed to. Excess chlorine and salt water exposure could potentially damage your men’s toupee as well as dry out your hair. A solution for this is to wear a swimming hat whenever you decide to swim.

Overall, however, swimming with a toupee should be fine.
